Here at the British Dental Clinic Amalgam is not used.  

White Fillings

White fillings are used to repair damaged teeth following decay, tooth wear or trauma.

White fillings can also be used to replace your old, unsightly amalgam (metal) fillings and are mercury free.

These white fillings (Composite Resins) are bonded (adhesive) to the tooth structure and come in an array of tooth colours that can be accurately matched to each individual tooth.

Benefits of tooth coloured white fillings: 

• Are mercury free
• Look natural.
• Composite fillings come in a range of tooth colours to match to the shade of your teeth
• Composite fillings need less tooth preparation (drilling), making composite a less destructive restoration.
• Are adhesive.

This allows the dentist to build-up chipped or fractured front teeth or even build-up badly broken down teeth
